Goa trance parties can take place in unusual locations such as on a beach, in a desert or in the middle of the forest, although it is not uncommon for them to be held in conventional locations like clubs.
The parties have a visual aspect as well; the use of “fluoro” (fluorescent paint) is common in clothing and decoration. The images are often associate with topics like aliens, Hinduism and other religious (especially eastern) images, mushrooms (and other psychedelic imagery), shamanism and technology.
There are lots of psychedelic festivals all around the world but they may not call it that because of the negativity in authorities about Psy almost everywhere. Some of the most important ones are listed below to read about.
Boom Festival
Boom Festival is the paradigm of a psychedelic festival, every two years since 1997 it brings to Portugal thousands of people from the worldwide community. And if we consider that Boom will happen every two years, we can conclude that all trance punters will be heading to Europe’s West Coast annually to attend to summer festivals
Based on the psy-trance scene, Boom has evolved ever since and is now a platform for different art forms, activists, freaks, lecturers, visionaries, party animals, tribes, artists, neo-mystics, to name just a few.
Boom became an intercultural (and inter subcultural), inter generational and multidisciplinary event feeding up the global psychedelic scene of new concepts. Moreover its independent ethos (not accepting corporate sponsorships) is an activist role model to the general trance scene.
The Boom journey has been quite a long journey. More than 10 years of real evolution on a personal, grupal and collective conscious areas.
Life Festival
Life Festival is an annual Irish music festival to be held in Belvedere House in Westmeath Ireland 2010. With various arts activities and street performers, from jugglers, fire breathers to magicians. There is also a chill out healing area where you can enjoy a massage, yoga workshops and reiki healers…
Psychedelic trance came to Ireland relatively late (in 2001) but has evolved a great deal over the last few years. The earliest psytrance parties in Ireland were organized by Moonemotions crew and after some of its members returned to their country of origin, the ones who remained in Ireland evolved into NEUTRONYX. The Neutronyx team is best known for organizing The Life Festival, open raves, and electro parties around Dublin. The notorious Neutronyx UV decor and visual graphics are an essential part of every psytrance party.
Life Festival was awarded the “Best Irish Dance Festival” in the first Irish Festival Awards in 2007, again in 2009, and also nominated into the top 10 Small Festivals in the European Festival Awards 2009.
The Water Dragon Festival
The Water Dragon will play host to some of Australia’s best progressive and psytrance acts. This stage will provide a non-stop journey from Saturday through to Monday, taking you through progressive and tech sounds by day into psytrance at night.
You will hear a broad spectrum of psytrance ranging from the earthy tribal, melodic and harder night time sounds of Dark, Goa and Full On trance, culminating in an amazing Monday afternoon of pristine progressive music.
The Love Parade
A popular 1-day festival and parade that originated in 1989 in Berlin, Germany. Predominantly, Trance, House, Techno, and Schranz music is played. In 1997, the number of participants crossed 1,000,000!
On July 2010, in total, 19 people were killed when panic broke out in an over-crowded tunnel entrance to the festival. The circumstances that led to the people’s deaths remained unclear. People tried to escape the area around the tunnel and may have been trampled to death or fallen from a bridge they scaled to flee the crowd. Love Parade organizer Rainer Schaller said the Love Parade would never be held again.
Those who lost their lives were victims “of the material interests of an organizer,” said the police union’s regional chairman, Wolfgang Orscheschek.
Witnesses to the stampede also criticized the event’s organizers, with one man describing the proceedings as “organized chaos,” while others reported that there was simply “no way out.”
KaZantip (the hidden paradise)
KaZantip republic, or simply Z, is the name of the biggest, longest, craziest, liveliest and most unusual techno, trance and house music event in the world! It takes place for 5-6 weeks in the summer in Ukraine and over 150,000 “paradiZer’s” attend each year. “The Woodstock of the East”.
San Francisco Love Evolution
An international spin-off of the German Love parade, this is the largest single-day electronic dance music event in America that draws people from all over the world! It occurs annually in San Francisco in late September and early October. An all-ages event, over 120,000 people attend it every year!

Hi,
This post has material taken verbatim from my original post on Electronic Festivals without any attribution to me. I’m hoping you look into this matter and get back to me, or change it in a way that information on those three festivals are attributed to me in some way. It took quite a bit of research on my part to put together the list. Thank you.
